November Newsletter

Dear friends and family of Pine Moon Fine Art,

Winter is here!!! Snow falls quietly around town, covering what’s left of our autumn leaves. While change is undoubtedly in the air, it’s nice to stop and truly see how magical the snow is. Observation is a fundamental practice for artists, serving as the foundation for our creative expression. By closely examining the world around us, we develop a deeper understanding of our subjects, whether while capturing the intricate details of nature or the nuanced emotions of the human experience.

This month we are happy to showcase a new exhibition by acrylic artist Attila Feszt entitled Welcome to Colorado. This vibrant collection of works leverages Attila’s keen sense of observation and bold use of color as he endeavors to learn about his new environment. We invite you to immerse yourselves in this exciting exhibition and perhaps learn something new about our beautiful state. The grand opening for the show is this Friday, November 1st, 5–8 pm during First Friday Artwalk. We’ll see you there!

October Newsletter

Dear friends and family of Pine Moon Fine Art,

We hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather this autumn is bringing to Routt County. The vivid yellows, oranges and reds within our expansive forests and rugged mountain ranges have been awe-inspiring this year. While our wilderness areas are an ideal backdrop for outdoor activities, they are also home to abundant wildlife including countless bird species, elk, deer, moose and bears (some which roam in our backyards!) As an artist, it’s almost impossible to not find endless inspiration here. During the month of October we invite you to enjoy Wilderness, an All-Artist Exhibition by all Pine Moon Fine Art artists. Come enjoy this beautiful exhibition and see what inspires your favorite local Steamboat artist.

Also, this Friday, October 4th, Friends of Wilderness (FOW) is coming in during First Friday Artwalk to talk about the 60th anniversary of the Wilderness Act and provide information about their organization. Presentation will begin at 5pm. We are open 11am-6pm. See you then!

September Newsletter

Dear friends and family of Pine Moon Fine Art,

September is a wonderful month to enjoy all the fall hiking that Steamboat and Routt County have to offer. It is also a time when flocks of majestic birds pass through on their way to warmer climates. At the gallery, we are celebrating printmaker and poet, Jill Bergman. In Poems for the Wayward World, Jill has put together a heartfelt and gorgeous collection of linocut prints and accompanying poems. We invite you to immerse yourself in the intricate storytelling this exhibition has to offer. September is Jill Bergman’s last month with us at Pine Moon Fine Art. Although we understand that just as birds follow their ancient pathways to new places, artists too must honor their ever-changing creative journey. Jill’s voice as an advocate for the planet, steward of its creatures, patient teacher, friend and leader, not to mention incredible artist, will be sorely missed at the gallery. Join us for the opening of the exhibition this Friday, September 6th, 5–8pm.

Mark your calendars: Thursday, September 12th, at 5pm, Jill is having a poetry reading and will be available to sign books at Pine Moon. She has also invited a handful of local authors to read one of their own poems inspired by nature. Come for a lovely evening!

GOOD NEWS

The Yampa Valley Crane Festival took place this past weekend. Oil painter Joanne Orce led a ‘sketch a bird’ workshop for attendees.

August Newsletter

Dear friends and family of Pine Moon Fine Art,

It is once again time for the summer Olympics. Here in Steamboat it is an extra special time as our community understands, perhaps a bit more than others, how much hard work, dedication and sacrifice every athlete must endure to reach their highest level of performance, summer or winter. (Did you know Steamboat has produced more winter Olympians than any other town in the USA?) During the month of August, our gallery is proud to showcase Small Works, a beautiful solo exhibition by oil painter and athletic coach Joanne Orce. Joanne embodies the connection between the world of art and that of athletics, like no other. She dedicates her spirit to nurturing the profound sense of accomplishment that comes from pushing boundaries and breaking barriers—a common thread that unites sports and art. We hope you will join us for the opening of the exhibition this Friday, August 2nd, 5–8pm, during First Friday Artwalk.

Also, please consider voting for Best of the Boat 2024. Votes are accepted from now until August 16th. See you all soon!

July Newsletter

Dear friends and family of Pine Moon Fine Art,

Art has the unique ability to capture moments in time, preserving fleeting emotions, events, and experiences. Through art, we can glimpse into the past, understand the present, and perhaps even envision the future. Whether it's a serene landscape painting, a powerful political statement, or a candid photograph, art serves as a visual record of our shared human experiences. This month, we are thrilled to showcase a beautiful collection of moments captured by our own Jill Leeson entitled Steamboat Seasons. We hope after the festivities of the week you will plan to join us this Friday, July 5th, 5–8pm, for the opening of the exhibition. We are open every day 11am–6pm. Happy 4th friends!
