Sue Gallion, Fiber Artist & Painter
Sue Gallion has always been interested in the artistic and creative world. As a teenager growing up in Kansas, she designed and made all of her own clothing as well as clothing for her family and friends. Soon after her wedding, she moved to Denver, CO where she put her husband through law school, raised their six children and started designing clothing for exclusive shops throughout the area.
In 1974 the family was transferred to the Houston, TX area where Sue opened her own antique shop and became a member of several Quilt Guilds. During her years in Texas, she expanded her portfolio to include stained glass, ceramics, quilting, fiber arts and oil, acrylic and watercolor painting.
In 1997, Sue moved to Steamboat where she managed the final construction details of her home and studio in the beautiful Yampa valley. She became a member of the Steamboat Arts Council and has been a featured artist in several local and national exhibits. Sue has won numerous awards in local and state competitions and she has been published in national magazines and newspapers.
